We all love movies and everyone around here at JustBats.com definitely has their favorites. So we thought we would start featuring a Classic Baseball Movie every month to help bring back some memories. Now no one around here claims to be a movie critic by any means, but we do love baseball and we love movies, so take what we have to say about these movies light hearted, we try to pick movies we can generally agree are good all around baseball lover's movies.
This month's Classic Baseball Movie of the Month is The Sandlot. Now if you love baseball at all and haven't seen this movie, you may have been living in a hole your entire life, because this movie is a true classic. The movie came out in 1993, but is set in 1962 and tells the story of a group of kids just trying to strive to be the best neighborhood team they can be while taking the new kid on the block, Scotty Smalls, under their wing. They come into contact with several adventures, some baseball related and some are not, and one adventure involves a baseball-eating dog called The Beast, which plays a pivotal role in bringing this group of kids together to be a great team. It's a great family movie that everyone should see, even if you don't like baseball.
Now if you haven't seen this movie go out and get it now, and if you don't, well… "you're killin' me smalls!"
