RXT Ryan Coach

Pros: Hit in the cage last night had great pop and nice sweet spot. She is going to have to get used to the feel of the bat she said it has a different feel than the PXT she’s been swinging for 2 years.

Cons: Non as of now

Great Bat out of wrapper KC Player

Pros: Lots of pop, big sweet spot. Bat is new, but in the first week, I tied my exit velocity from previous bats (Xeno, Ghost) of 77mph, and hit the ball 262 Ft (not my record, but close). I like the feel of the bat. I swing the 33 -10. I am 17 yo 5'10" and 150lbs. First day with bat, off the Tee, I hit 71-75mph exit velo. So bat has juice.

Cons: Pricey and it doesn't fix timing.

Very Balanced... Jake Koehn Coach

Pros: DD loves the very balanced effortless balance swing of this bat. She loves the graphics. She also loves the performance. Large sweet spot.

Cons: Time will tell if the bat will out perform the LXT, Xeno, or Easton Ghost.

RXT is a Game Changer Erin Coach

Pros: Our team has been swinging slugger, demarini and Easton bats for the last 4 years. We have literally tried everything and no bat has ever stuck out of the bunch the way this rxt does. From exit velocity to sound to feel everyone on our team thinks this bat is the best thing since sliced bread. When we first tried this bat out at a demo day the rep stressed that this is a full redesign. That it wasn’t a “pxt”, xeno or Lxt. Basically it’s a Frankenstein bat that takes the stiffness of a xeno and the huge sweetspot of the Lxt and poof...you now have an RXT! Graphics are fine and no one has a single complaint on performance. I have a feeling this is going to be the new bat to have this coming season.

Cons: Girls that like the prism and ghost double barrel sound didn’t think the RXT was as hot, but our hittrax data showed them otherwise!

Super underrated bat Stevi Player

Pros: This bat has awesome performance and a stiff connection. The Lxt is too soft for me and the xeno doesn’t hit as far as the rxt. This bat is better than the ghost by far.

Cons: None.

RXT Justin Mills Coach

Pros: Solid feel and durable. I bought it as a BP bat to save a ghost for games. She hasn’t touched the ghost bat in 3 weeks. This might be the most underrated bat on the market right now.

Cons: Doesn’t sound like an explosion the way ghost bats do.

RXT Coach Pappy Coach

Pros: the bat is has only been used for 3 weeks, so hard to give accurate rating on durability but based on previous LXT's, feel ok with this rating. The drive of the ball coming off of the bat is fabulous. Remember it's not all about the arrow, it's also about the shooter.

Cons: none at this time

Great bat! B.L. Parent

Pros: Got this bat for my daughter who was having some trouble with previous bat. She's played 4 games using this bat and loves the feel and pop. She likes the little stiffer feel compared to her sisters LXT.

Good bat, but probably for bigger hitters Josh P Parent

Pros: Well made bat, like everything LVS makes.

Cons: My daughter is more of a singles and doubles hitter and about 5'1" and 85 lbs and 12 years old. She could really generate enough force for this bat and so the ball didn't really come off the bat well or feel like it should. Probably better suited for a power hitter to get the most from this bat. We switched to the Demarini CF Zen instead and the ball comes off much better. A comparable bat in the LVS line is the LXT for a more balanced swing weight.

Great so far Anonymous Parent

Pros: Have only had this bat through 2 weekend tournaments, but my 11 yr old loves it after stepping up to the 31/21from a 30/19 (brand x). Great balance, feel on contact, and good pop. Whether it's the actual bat or the confidence that has come with it, she's hit better in these last 10 games than she has all year.

Cons: None so far

Worth the $$$ Kristin McNiel Parent

Pros: My daughter loves it- had great pop right out of the wrapper. She’s 14, so still developing strength. This made her hit like a beast! The coated coils between the handle and barrel seem to make it springy as well. Best bat she’s owned and worth the price!

Cons: Not really sure yet.

So far so good Joe Coach

Pros: Had it for a few weeks, comfortable grip, no flex, and really good pop. We went up a size and 2 oz in weight. My 12U has been sending it 15ft shy o FB the fence on the regular. She loves the way it swings. She was using the xeno which she loved for 1.5 yr, but out grew it.

Cons: Out side of surface scratches, not much at this time.

Insanely underrated Deric Coach

Pros: Just ordered 2nd one. My daughter has had it pushing 3 seasons and it still has life. Being cautious and getting the extra one incase. Every kid i see using these hits absolute bombs. We gave our daughter the choice and she said "this is the best bat I have swung don't change it." It outperforms the newer model RXT, should of not changed a thing.

Cons: Grip wears out quick. We will just regrip it right out of wrapper. Biggest con is the lack of recognition this bat gets. If you decide to get one it does have a break in period before it hits top performance. So be patient you wont regret.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Louisville Slugger RXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPRXD1020? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between the LXT, XENO and the RXT? Mike
This Louisville Slugger RXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat (WTLFPRXD1020) will provide a stiff feel at connection with a softball, but also deliver a large sweet spot and limit the vibration that gets down to the hands. The attraction of the stiff connection point on the RXT is that players often feel that no power gets lost in the flexing of the barrel when they make contact with the ball. The LXT has a large sweet spot like this RXT, but will provide more flex at contact with the ball. Sometimes players feel that a flexing barrel makes them lose some power. Lastly, the XENO is a stiff feeling bat like the RXT. However, it is believed to have a smaller sweet spot than both the LXT and RXT. As well, it doesn't limit as much vibration as the RXT or LXT.
Ben
Is the RXT essentially an improved PXT? Is it end loaded as the PXT was and more so than an LXT? Can you tell us the difference of the internals between the LXT and the RXT? John
The Louisville Slugger RXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPRXD1020 will feature a completely re-engineered design with more of a balanced swing weight. The RXT will be more balanced than the PXT was. Louisville Slugger has incorporated a new springload connection design, copa end cap and a new composite barrel. The RXT will provide a stiff feel at connection with a softball, but also deliver a large sweet spot and limit the vibration that gets down to the hands.
Tori

As this model is a balanced bat, it should work just fine for a slap-style hitter.

Does the lizard skin come standard on the Louisville bats or does that need to be purchased? Michelle
The grip that it shows in the pictures is what will come on the bat.
Ryan
Is this the newest RXT or is the blue colored one the newer model? Is there a difference between the two? Jim
The Louisville Slugger RXT -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WBL2448010 was released after the Louisville Slugger RXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPRXD1020. The two bats are the same minus the colorway.
Cameron
How does this bat compare next to the Ghost Advanced? I'm debating between the two for my daughter. Jon Clark
The Lousville RXT is a great overall bat. When comparing the two bats, a couple of main differences stand out. 1.) Out of the two models, the Easton Ghost Advanced is a hotter bat. The Ghost is a crowd favorite to swing. The RXT is also a high performing bat, but I think the Ghost has the upper edge there. 2.) Durability is much better with the RXT. The Easton Ghost Advanced is known to break, and they have struggled with having bats that can last through a season.
Leeah
Is it Asa approved Brandy
The Louisville Slugger RXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPRXD1020 will be Approved For Play In USSSA, ASA, NSA, ISA, & ISF
Tyler
My daughter is 18 years old, 5'3" and 150 lbs. She is a line driver hitter with power. She's a lefty but is not a slapper. She has been using a 32/22 CF for 3 plus years. Is this a good bat for her? Is there another bat more suitable for her? How does this bat compare to her current bat? Is there a break in period? If so how long? What size bat is best for her? Is this bat allowed in High School and College? Thanks Joe
The Louisville Slugger RXT X20 -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WTLFPRXD1020 is certainly a good bat to consider for your player. Another bat to consider for your player would be the Louisville Slugger Xeno -10 Fastpitch Softball Bat: WBL2869010.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
