When the first Louisville Slugger TPX Triton hit the field three years ago, it debuted a concept that hadn’t ever been tried before; a three-piece composite bat. The idea was to insert a “Bubble Transition Zone” between the composite handle and the composite barrel to create a stiff one-piece feel. Highly revered for its explosive power, the TPX Triton quickly became a household name. Though gaining a loyal following, it became apparent that there were two main issues that most owners had; the Triton’s durability and its high price tag.

For the 2012 season, Louisville Slugger set out to satisfy these customers by reinventing the Triton. The goal was to make a high-quality TPX bat at an affordable price point; not an easy task in an industry where you generally get what you pay for. Louisville Slugger decided to completely scrap the stiff three-piece design and replace it with a true one-piece construction for the Triton II. The real game-changer here is Louisville Slugger’s new X-1 Composite that allows the Triton II to be built for bat speed, performance and durability… all at a lower price. Both the Senior League and Youth models feature -12 length to weight ratios and a balanced swing weight. Early sales and reviews suggest that this bat is going to make a huge splash this season.
