Effective January 1, 2020, USSSA, a governing body for youth baseball, will adopt a rule requiring that all players 13u players must swing a bat with no lighter than a drop-8 length-to-weight ratio and 14u players must swing a bat no lighter than a drop-5.

Marucci has just released their very first USA certified bat, the Marucci Cat. This will be a drop-10 model to be used in all forms of USA-sanctioned baseball.

On August 7, 2015, the Little League International Board of Directors formally adopted the USA Baseball's new standard for bat performance testing, but this new ruling would not be implemented til January 1, 2018.
Now that we're in the second year of USA Baseball approved baseball bats being available and a requirement for a large number of youth players, we need to break down some of the best options for 2019.
