Southbat engineered a new type of wood bat, made from Guayaibi, a wood from a sub-tropical forest in South America. Guayaibi has a tighter, denser and yet more flexible grain than maple and ash bats currently on the market, while still featuring a pure, non-composite wood design. Southbat has rapidly grown in popularity, gaining approval in the International Baseball Federation and being used by many players in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. |
All phases of production take place in South America, from drying and turning the wood billet to painting the bat. All Southbats are turned by hand and hand-finished for guaranteed quality. Added Benefit: Sustainability |
The adult bat comes in three turn models, all constructed from Southbat’s signature Guayaibi wood for performance and durability. All models feature a 30-day manufacturer’s warranty and a black finish. The SB271 is the best selling model, with a balanced swing weight and medium barrel for a large sweet spot. Preferred by many top high school and travel ball teams, the SB110 has a 2 ½” barrel, thick 1.00” handle and a long taper. It is very lightweight and well balanced, allowing for total control and increased bat speed. The SB141 is also well balanced and will have a quick taper to a 7/8" standard handle and a traditional knob. |
The Youth Pro: B111 model, unlike the adult model, features Tipa wood, which is durable but very light, allowing them to produce this model with an approximate -7 length to weight ratio and a well balanced swing weight. The Youth Pro is handcrafted and hand finished with a large 2 ½” barrel, standard knob, medium taper and cupped end. The top-of-the-line wood and 30-day warranty makes this bat the perfect training model. Southbat offers a great product selection that starts with the highest quality Guayaibi wood. The flexibility and durability ensure safety and longevity; and the handcrafted quality ensures performance. Southbats truly have it all. The power is in the wood.
