Two-piece composite designs are renowned for their long-lasting durability and powerful punch. We matched two of the top fully composite BBCOR picks head-to-head. Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to the main event: the 2014 Easton MAKO vs. the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Bat Duel.

Easton MAKO

2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR

Hitting out of Van Nuys, California and new to the scene in 2014, the Easton MAKO is the latest and greatest model from Easton. The two-piece composite design features the brand new TCT™ Thermo Composite. Paired with Easton’s tried and proven ConneXion™ Technology, the MAKO will have a great feel on contact. The 31/32” handle is wrapped with Easton’s Performance Diamond Grip for ultimate comfort.

MAKO: Keys to Victory
The Easton MAKO shares a key component with its namesake, the mako shark: speed. Featuring Easton’s revolutionary new TCT™ Thermo Composite, the MAKO is ultra-lightweight, allowing for an extremely balanced swing weight with a massive sweet spot. This enables hitters to drastically increase swing speed, which ultimately generates more power at the plate.

Weight Distribution: Extremely Well-Balanced

Design: Two-Piece Fully Composite

DeMarini CF6

2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR

Hitting out of Hillsboro, Oregon and following a long line of successful models, the DeMarini CF6 is DeMarini’s champion. Similar to its predecessors, the CF6 still features a two-piece composite design. The 2014 model is comprised of Paradox Composite for their lightest swinging bat yet. Within the barrel, DeMarini uses Doublewall technology in order to give this bat both the largest possible sweet spot and maximum trampoline effect. The Paradox Composite in the handle is stiffer than in years past, allowing maximum energy transfer from bat to ball.

CF6: Keys to Victory
In 2014 the CF6 has been revamped with DeMarini’s groundbreaking D-Fusion Technology. Combined with the Carbon Reinforced Paradox Composite Handle and Thermo-Fused Taper, the D-Fusion technology severely reduces vibration on contact and redirects energy on mishits back into the barrel. This results in a bat with the smoothest possible feel on contact.

Weight Distribution: Well-Balanced

Design: Two-Piece Fully Composite

Both models are BBCOR certified and legal for use in high school and collegiate baseball. The MAKO and the CF6 are both backed by a 12 month warranty from their respective manufacturers.

One thing is for sure, both the Easton MAKO and DeMarini CF6 are top of the line when it comes to performance and comfort at the plate; but there can only be one winner. That’s for you to decide. Give us your feedback and let us know which bat you prefer!
