The Top 50 Explosion

Posted by Adam B on Oct 6, 2011 3:11:19 PM

Mosquitoes were racing, trying to bite any exposed skin they could find in the hot, smoldering heat of a Missouri night in late June. The smell of sulfur was in the air, and large explosions could be heard across the countryside. We had become men, venturing into the wilderness, just to get the perfect shot. And for what reason? To sell as many bats as we could. As the creative/marketing team, we make a Top 50 email marketing campaign every month to display and sell all of the top bats of the month. It is a very successful campaign, and we like to get creative with it.

We brainstormed the perfect shot and hopped into Drew’s Honda that we packed full of explosives. We drove around at least 45 minutes before we found a long empty road for us to set up. After a few practice shots with Roman Candles, the sun finally went down and we were ready to shoot. We shot off the fireworks in the distance while our model was holding a 2012 DeMarini Voodoo. Between the strobes of light from Drew’s flash and the fireworks raining down, there was a masterpiece in the sky that we had captured. After a few hours of editing and designing, we had created a masterpiece on the screen. Check out this months top bats that are calling your name!

OMG, OMG, OMG!

Posted by Megan P on Oct 4, 2011 10:33:40 AM

Friday, September 30th started off as a regular Friday afternoon at the JustBats.com facility. The mood was light and everyone chatted about their weekend plans. It was another ordinary day UNTIL an unannounced visitor stepped through our doors. I couldn’t believe who I was seeing with my own eyes. I even got tangled in my chair as I tried to get a better look over the cubicle walls. Who was it?! It was THE Michele Smith. Yes, that’s right. The two-time olympic gold medalist stopped by our JustBats.com facility. As a legend in the ASA Hall of Fame, Michele Smith achieved so much success as a fastpitch player. She continues to make an impact on the faspitch world in a variety of ways. She even designed a cutting edge fastpitch bat called RIP-IT Elite Force: FORC2. You can check it out on our website here.

JustBats.com 2011 June Jam Tournament

Posted by Andrew D on Sep 26, 2011 4:27:39 PM

One of the coolest things we do each year here at JustBats.com is hosting the annual JustBats June Jam youth baseball tournament in Kansas City. Youth teams travel from all over the area to showcase their talents using the bats they get from JustBats.
This year we decided to step our game up another level and create a one-of-a-kind experience for all the players at the tournament by filming the players in action, and even interviewing some of them between games. We weren’t sure if the kids would be too shy to get in front of the camera or not, but we quickly realized we had our hands full.

Dream BIG

Posted by Megan P on Sep 24, 2011 11:07:05 AM

I was in Oklahoma City for the inaugural Border Battle (USA Men’s Slow Pitch Game vs Canada). JustBats.com hung out with the USA Men’s Team throughout the weekend to record video of the game’s best players. As I shot video of the team, I took notice of a young boy named Easton Rulli. He is the son of USA Team member, Dennis Rulli, and the designated bat boy for the weekend. Easton caught my eye right away when I saw him at practice. First of all, you could tell he’s a gifted ball player, but more importantly, you could instantly notice his passion for the game. He showed up for every USA Team’s practice ready to go. He didn’t shy away when Brett Helmer crushed a ball his way or pass up an opportunity to take some cuts. You could tell Easton was inspired by his idol, his dad. He watched his every move, mimicking his dad’s skills to hone in on his own.
